WEATHER UPDATE: The Douglas County School System has been closely monitoring Hurricane Helene and the potential for heavy rain and strong winds in our area tomorrow in collaboration with the National Weather Service. According to the National Hurricane Center and our local emergency management agency, inclement weather will begin impacting our area on Thursday evening. At this time, schools will operate on a normal schedule on Thursday, September 26, 2024. However, all after-school activities and programs on that day will be canceled. In addition, all classes, after school events and activities will be canceled for Friday, September 27. Our top priority is to always maintain the safety of our students and staff. Therefore, we will keep a vigilant eye on weather conditions throughout the evening. If there are any further changes, we will promptly inform our school community. We will communicate this important information through email, text, and social media platforms. It will also be shared on social media and in collaboration with our media partners. We appreciate your understanding as we continue our focus on the safety and well-being of our school community.

Happy Labor Day! On this beautiful Labor Day, our amazing cheerleaders took the time to participate in the YAARAB Sweetwater Shrine club Labor Day Parade. They did an incredible job, and I am very, very proud of them! If you see a BUES cheerleader, please take a moment to congratulate them on a job well done!










**Good Afternoon Burnett Families,** We're excited to announce that **Spirit Night at Texas Roadhouse** is coming up! Join us on **Friday, September 6th, between 4 PM and 9 PM** for a delicious dinner while supporting Burnett Elementary.
