Rising freshmen in the Douglas County School System got a chance to sneak a peek at their soon-to-be high schools during the annual Freshman Expo events on March 13.
All five DCSS high schools and the College and Career Institute hosted Freshman Expo events for members of the Class of 2029. Incoming freshmen had the opportunity to learn about various academic programs and extracurricular activities, meet school staff, ask questions and engage with current students, according to K’Asha Davis, DCSS Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.
Davis added that roughly 2,500 rising freshmen took part in the Freshman Expo events across the six campuses.
“Our Freshman Expo was a huge success, welcoming nearly 2,500 students across our five high schools and the CCI to explore academic programs, meet educators, and get excited about their high school journey,” Davis said. “This event set the stage for a strong start, fostering connections and confidence as students prepare for the next chapter of their education.”
