Lithia Springs head baseball coach Bobby Andrews says his Lions are primed for success this year, with a goal of making it to the state playoffs.

“I just feel like this year we want to play hard, play fast, play physical, play smart, play disciplined,” Andrews said at the recent Spring Sports Media Day. “I feel like if we can do those things, we make the routine plays, we can have a chance to be in ball games.”

Andrews said the Lions have five strong starting pitchers and offensively hope to “hunt fastballs” while maintaining discipline as a team at the plate.

The coach spotlighted senior starting center fielder and pitcher Zion Bracy, along with a host of other potential impact players, including:

• Jaden Cooper, senior, IF/OF
• Domani Weems, senior, P/ IF
• De’Rick Pittman, junior, C
• Jason Walters, sophomore, IF/P
• Robert Wilson, sophomore, IF/OF/P
• Evangel Rivera, freshman, IF/P

Bracy has played all four years with the Lions. He brings leadership to the team, in addition to his speed in the outfield and on the base paths.

“I'm doing more just to be on base, because once I'm on base, nobody catches me,” Bracy said.
