Alexander’s boys soccer team is coming off a third-place finish in the region and a state playoff appearance.
Cougars coach Jose Cuellar said he has most of last year’s starters back this year and expects to be in the running for another postseason berth.
“Region 5-AAAAA will be a lot tougher than the previous season, but our players have worked hard during the offseason in their respective clubs and during conditioning,” he said. “They are ready for the challenge!”
The Cougars are led by senior captain Nyck Waits, a defensive midfielder, along with fellow senior returning starters Boc Norman (F), Cameron Mullaney (MF), Cris Crespo Ortiz (MF), and Eli Castellanos (GK).
“Their presence and leadership will be essential for our success this year,” Cuellar said.
