DSES students on scooters

iReady Stretch Growth Superstars at Dorsett Shoals Elementary recently celebrated their hard DSES students on scooterswork and success in meeting their end-of-the year iReady goals months ahead of schedule. Eighty-four students proudly rode down the school hallways in an exciting Scooter Parade, with teachers and classmates cheering them on as they celebrated this exceptional milestone.

Stretch growth refers to the progress needed to be on-track for grade-level proficiency. Research suggests it was created to support educators in setting an “ambitious, attainable and accelerated path to grade level for each student.”

Principal Kelly Brown expressed Panther pride in her students’ outstanding academic achievement.

“These students have already met their end of year stretch growth goal and are well on their way to exceeding it,” said Brown. “It was not only great to celebrate the successes of our Stretch Growth Superstars, but it was wonderful seeing our entire school community come together to recognize the accomplishments.”

“Everyone had such a great time,” she added.
