Students at Holly Springs Elementary explored the wonders of power production during a recent visit from Lorrie Wallace with Georgia Power.
Wallace read a book about the different sources of power and encouraged student engagement by asking questions at the end.
Students also participated in interactive learning centers on magnets, a state science standard for first-graders, with hands-on activities provided by Wallace.
“The first grade students learned about magnets earlier in the year,” first grade teacher Katie Pelletier said. “They loved working through the hands-on centers.”
Wallace also talked to the students about different careers related to power.
