BSES fire station visit2

Bright Star Elementary School's fifth grade Junior Beta students visited local fire station #10 Wednesday morning

This trip gave these students insight on what it's like to serve our community. The National Beta Club organization focuses on character, achievement, leadership and service. Students were able to discuss how to prevent house fires, climb into the county's largest fire truck, time a firefighter getting dressed for an emergency call, and see what it's like to stand inside a fire truck's rescue basket.

Fire safety educator/inspector, Elonda Reese, did an excellent job organizing a day to remember for these students. Bright Star's Junior Beta parents surprised her and the firefighters with various gift cards and hand written letters of appreciation for their service.

Students enjoyed this trip and are now even more excited about continuing their mission to serve.
