Fathers at Eastside Elementary recently gathered with students to discuss the importance of self-discipline and its impact on everyday life, thanks to the All Pro Dad initiative. This effort aims to help fathers become more involved in their children’s lives by having meaningful conversations and activities that strengthen their relationship.
Principal Timothy Jenkins, Sr. expressed pride in the insightful topics discussed and their relevance to real-world issues.
“This is our third year implementing the All Pro Dad program at Eastside Elementary," he said. "Each month, the fathers meet to discuss a variety of topics with our children. The topics covered are really interesting and lend themselves to pro-social values.”
Former Eastside teacher Pam Harrington also shared insights with the group, explaining how fathers can help bridge the gap between home and school to more effectively support their children.
Run by the nonprofit organization Family First, All Pro Dad empowers fathers with tools and strategies to foster deeper family connections. The website highlights that this national initiative is supported by 1,000 chapters across 42 states. In addition to inspiring men to embrace their roles as dads and husbands, it also provides guidance, support and practical parenting tips through training, events and emails.
