NMHS FBLA students

New Manchester High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter took action against local hunger recently by installing two “Helping Hands Community Pantry Boxes” at the Douglasville Library and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta.

These pantry boxes provide non-perishable food items and necessities to community members experiencing hunger, providing a way for community members to get support during times of need.

“I was overcome with emotion yesterday as we installed the boxes,” said Senior Ariele Taylor, NMHS FBLA Chapter Secretary. “I’m just so happy we can help others in need.”

The pantry boxes operate on the principle of “Take what you need, leave what you can,” encouraging community participation and collaboration. Each location was selected to maximize accessibility and visibility, ensuring the boxes reach individuals who need them the most.

FBLA members have plans to expand the initiative by collaborating with additional community partners, engaging volunteers, and organizing donation drives. Future Business Leaders of America is a national organization that inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.
