The Lithia Springs wrestling team is led by senior Brian Miller and junior D.J. Barkley.
Coach William Haywood said Miller, who wrestles at 175 pounds, was 16-11 last year, finished fourth in the region and earned a trip to sectionals. Barkley, who wrestles at 132 pounds, was 13-7 last year, finished third in the region and also made it to sectionals.
“These guys will serve as our team captains this year and will lead us as we look to start off the year strong,” he said.
Haywood said he’s also got a lot of newcomers making an impact and hopes to continue getting better as the season progresses.
