Douglas County Partners in Education (PIE) continued to serve local schools over the holiday season by donating much-needed food items to school system families.
Dr. Deborah Johnson-Blake with PIE said, food items, from hearty canned goods and snack packs to fresh produce, were delivered by members to 10 schools in the district.
The food donations were made possible by a generous donation from Papa John’s Pizza to Partners in Education.
“Their generosity helped ensure that families across our community had extra support during the break,” Johnson-Blake said.
Coming up, PIE will be hosting a special Tour of Schools event at Douglas County High School on February 5th from 9-10:30 a.m. The Tour of Schools is sponsored by Gilbane, Inc. To register for the free tour, visit https://www.piedc.org/events.
