New Manchester’s boys basketball coach Chris Hollomon said he expects his team to keep the defensive intensity high and to get more buckets on offense by being more fluid.
The Jaguars are led by four upperclassmen in seniors Joshua Gadsden, Micah Hines and Jaedon Moore and junior Jah’Siah Payne.
Gadsden, who plays forward, is one of the team’s emotional leaders. He’s a good defender with high energy who looks to score every chance he gets, Hollomon said.
Payne, who plays point guard, looks to get everyone involved and is a “high IQ” player, Hollomon said.
Hines, who plays guard and forward, is the athletic leader on the team and is always in “go mode” on both offense and defense.
Moore plays center and is another emotional leader and high-energy player who “gives it his all at every chance he gets,” Hollomon said.
The Jaguars are in a tough Region 5-AAAAA with powerhouse programs like rival Alexander.
“I'm hoping we can be a playoff team,” he said. “Hope we can make some noise. Just trying to raise the standard here at New Manchester High School.
