Bright Star Elementary was recently buzzing with excitement as students and staff filled theBright Star students hug i-Ready mascot "Snargg." gymnasium to celebrate exceptional reading milestones achieved through the innovative i-Ready program. The web-based program is designed to help teachers personalize learning for students in grades K through 8, enabling them to monitor progress and adapt instruction throughout the year. 

In an effort to motivate and encourage students with the online educational tool, Principal Heather Fields surprised the academic scholars with a special visit from the energetic i-Ready mascot, "Snargg." The beloved blue dog made a memorable appearance helping to congratulate 101 students who met their stretch growth goal on their i-Ready diagnostic.

Students were recognized with a certificate and invited to a special lunch and munch with Snargg. Additionally, they received a frosty coupon and enjoyed a special treat with their lunch.  

Fields shared in the excitement with her students and teachers as they handed out certificates, captured photos with Snargg, danced and celebrated each other’s achievements. 

"We are so proud of our students and teachers," Fields said. "It was so heartwarming to see our students cheering for one another! We can't wait to see our growth next time and look forward to celebrating again!" 

Overall, i-Ready diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that measures students’ skills in reading Bright Star Principal Heather Fields and teachers with "Snargg."and mathematics. According to the i-Ready website, the educational tool provides rigorous and motivating reading and mathematics instruction that engages students of all levels and backgrounds, motivates students to persist in skill building, provides support to meet the needs of all students and creates personal learning pathways. The assessment provides educators with detailed information about students’ strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to meet students where they are in order to enhance their academic progress.
