DECA students (Distributive Education Clubs of America) from the College and Career Institute recently attended the Fall Leadership Development Conference, where they participated in leadership workshops designed to enhance the professional development of chapter officers. The energetic sessions united inspiring leaders from across the state to engage in hands-on leadership workshops, competitive events and various other activities.
“By attending this conference, CCI DECA officers can share valuable information with their fellow members to increase engagement, improve competition strategies, and build excitement for this year’s DECA chapter,” said Marketing Education Teacher and DECA Advisor Savannah Ray.
According to the Georgia DECA website, DECA enhances the preparation for college and careers by providing co-curricular programs that integrate into classroom instruction, applying learning in the context of business, networking and promoting competition. Furthermore, student members leverage their DECA experience to become academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible and experienced leaders, equipped with the necessary skills to succeed.
Georgia DECA hosted the annual conference Nov. 7-8 at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta.
