Douglas County students lit up the Magnolia room at the second annual Glow Show Art exhibition last week. Dozens of fluorescent masterpieces showcased the talents of young artists in a display blending art and science.

The event, which highlighted work from students across all grade levels, demonstrated how art can spark creativity in students. DCSS Visual Arts Specialist Tammy Morris says this event is one of the most fun and anticipated art exhibitions of the year. “This Glow exhibition shows how art education can spark creativity and curiosity, helping students build cross-curricular connections,” she explained. “Watching students and families experience their artwork glow in the dark brought an extra dimension of excitement to our art show.”

The Winter Wonderland Exhibit, which will begin on December 5, is the next big art show highlighting the work of DCSS students. In March, students will celebrate their biggest art show as part of Youth Art Month.
