Two New Manchester High School students recently shared their experiences from the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program with the Rotary Club of Douglas County. Aaliyah Mason and Amiah Jackson, New Manchester High School Interact Club members, attended the leadership camp. The event took place at Georgia Southwestern State University on June 8-12.
The students described their participation in team-building exercises and leadership activities with peers from across Georgia. Both Mason and Jackson highlighted the valuable friendships formed during the five-day program. Overall, the event provided a great opportunity for students from across the state to gather, grow and learn together.
The Rotary Club of Douglas County fully sponsored both students' participation, covering all expenses, including transportation. New Manchester High School RYLA is one of Rotary International's youth programs and develops leadership skills in promising high school students.
