Dreams of future careers came to life at Winston Elementary School when vehicles and Atlanta News First visits Winston.professionals transformed the school into a career exploration zone. During Winston’s annual “Careers on Wheels” event, students had the opportunity to climb on various vehicles and learn about exciting career possibilities firsthand.

From utility trucks to fire engines, each vehicle became a mobile classroom as community professionals shared their expertise with eager students. The event included a lineup of community partners, including GreyStone Power, Georgia Department of Transportation, Douglasville Parks and Recreation, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Fire Department, Maxim Crane and Atlanta News First.

“Careers on Wheels is a fun and engaging way to provide our students with hands-on experiences, helping them embark on an exciting career exploration journey,” said school counselor Sharleta Smith. As students moved from station to station, they learned about the important role these professions play in keeping our community running smoothly.

The event was a tremendous success. Students could see, touch, and experience the tools professionals use daily. During each visit, the volunteers helped students learn about potential career paths and inspired the next generation of professionals.
