The Chapel Hill High School volleyball team is in the midst of a successful season, securing a spot in the Area 2-6A Tournament with a 3-0 win on Tuesday.
Lady Panthers coaches Shatyriah Crawford and Tanesha Hill called their team a “talented and scrappy bunch” and said every player “plays a vital role in our success.”
Senior captains Chloe Bell and Justus Alexander are among the standouts the coaches highlighted.
“They bring immense effort and class to each game, and the rest of the team follows their lead,” the coaches said.
Alexander, the team’s setter, “possesses an incredible skill set, exceptional court vision, and mental toughness that most people wish to have,” the coaches said, adding that Alexander is the Lady Panthers “quarterback” and that her presence “elevates the whole team.”
Bell, one of Chapel Hill’s middle hitters, is “incredibly skilled and smart,” her presence is “felt the moment she touches the ball” and her “game speaks volumes about her talent and influence.”
The coaches also spotlighted captain Azaryah Lacour, whom they called a “fantastic mentor to our younger players” and a “real threat at the net” thanks to her “power and precision."
Sunshine Cardenas is another standout player who the coaches spotlighted by saying “her grit and heart shine through in every match, and her versatility on the court sets her apart.”
“As we move forward, our goal remains the same: to enjoy every moment of the postseason and give our best in each game,” the coaches said. “If we play with heart and leave it all on the court, we’ll have every reason to be proud of this team.”
