First year Lithia Springs volleyball coach Demond Hairston said he wants to develop the program into a “standard for Douglas County volleyball.”
Hairston spotlighted four players during the recent Douglas County School System Athletic Media Day — seniors Jasmine McDowell and Ameriya Barron and juniors Lauren Fleming and Karimah Frierson.
“Our team goal this year is really just to develop productive young ladies through the game of volleyball,” Hairston said. “That's our ultimate goal. Kind of staying in line with the Douglas County vision, just developing productive young ladies through the game of volleyball. Volleyball is our venue, and we just want to create that culture. And we feel like as we create that culture, we'll start to build towards becoming a program and not just a team.”
