Alexander volleyball coach Ben Robinson said he’s focused on bringing a positive culture to the program.

“I'm new to the sport,” Robinson said. “I've come in and tried to bring a certain culture, a family atmosphere to the program where the girls can, one, love each other and two, not be afraid to make mistakes. And they seem to have adapted to it really well and have taken to it really well.

The Lady Cougars are led this year by three captains — Nora Nesbitt, Abigail Rega and Kayden Carmack.

Robinson said Rega, a sophomore, “brings a natural leadership to the team.” Carmack is the Lady Cougars’ setter and “controls” the “action on the floor.” And Nesbitt, a senior, is a “natural leader who can play all around,” he said.

Nesbitt said she has “great expectations” for the team.

Carmack added: “I think the team culture that we've created is gonna really help us throughout the season, and I'm excited to see how far we can push ourselves.”
