Partners in Education (PIE) is proud to embrace a Tour of Schools, showcasing education’s future through innovation and community spirit. The tour offers partners an opportunity to witness the hard work and dedication of DCSS educators and students.
The tour kicks off with a visit to Winston Elementary School on September 18, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Winston is a hub of learning where students' laughter and curiosity fill the air, fueled by dedicated educators who nurture academic growth and personal development. During this tour, partners will see how traditional teaching seamlessly blends with modern educational techniques, demonstrating how technology enhances the curriculum.
Partners are encouraged to step into the classrooms buzzing with creative energy, where young minds explore, innovate, and excel.
Vice Chair of PIE, Dr. Deborah Johnson-Blake, noted that the enthusiasm of learning at Winston is truly contagious.
“At Winston Elementary, education goes beyond the classroom to include the whole community," Johnson-Blake said. "In addition, the school deeply values relationships with parents and local businesses. The tour will share the collaborative spirit that defines WES.”
Overall, partners will experience how learning empowers students to become global citizens, and the Tour of Schools offers a glimpse into this transformative journey.
