Ten Alexander High School students recently embarked on an educational journey of learning. Accompanied by AHS Social Studies teacher Holly Perry, the curious scholars explored various European countries, including Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland.
Students were captivated by the beloved classic “The Sound of Music” and enjoyed a visit to Salzburg, the filming location for the movie and home of Mozart. They also visited Neuschwanstein Castle, which inspired Cinderella Castle, and enjoyed a boat ride across Lake Lucerne, followed by a cogwheel train to the top of Mount Pilatus in the Alps.
Additionally, students visited Dachau Concentration Camp, which “was a very emotional experience for the kids,” said Perry.
“The entire experience was absolutely amazing and life changing for the students,” said Perry. “As a teacher, I loved seeing the looks on their faces while they were exposed to all the different food and culture! I can't wait for the next trip!,” she added.
