Eastside Elementary School kicked off the new school year by hosting its annual event, "Popsicles with the Principal." This cherished tradition, held just days before the first day of school, provided students and families with a cool treat and created a sense of pride within the school community.
Principal Timothy B. Jenkins Sr. hosted the event to strengthen the school community and provide students with one-on-one time with their school leader. "This event gives families a chance to connect with the school, especially if they're new to our area," the principal explained.
The event also reunited many students who hadn't seen their classmates over the summer break. "It's heartwarming to see the excitement on students' faces as they reconnect with friends," Principal Jenkins noted.
In addition to enjoying popsicles, attendees had access to free school supplies, helping families prepare for the upcoming academic year. Parents and students also took advantage of the opportunity to ask questions about the new school year and share ideas for school improvement.
