Decision Day was May 1st and approximately 60 seniors from Douglas County High School participated by announcing their college choices as part of the celebration.

Principal Kenja Parks said this was the largest graduating class, with students receiving many national and local scholarships to attend prestigious colleges and universities.

Among those making their decisions was International Baccalaureate senior Nathan Zhu, who was accepted into five of the top colleges in the country — Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard, Stanford, Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia.

Zhu plans to major in engineering and chose MIT.

Isabel Yang and Anna Liu, who were the district STAR Students with the highest SAT scores in the county, also finalized their college selections. Yang will attend Emory, while Liu will attend Georgia Tech.
