Women's History

In celebration of Women's History Month, Stewart Middle School proudly took 100 female students to a private viewing of the acclaimed film, "Rule Breakers." Directed by Bill Guttentag, "Rule Breakers" tells the powerful story of a nation where educating girls is considered an act of rebellion. The film follows a visionary woman who dares to empower young minds through education, inspiring them to dream beyond their circumstances.

As their innovative approach gains global attention, their success ignites both hope and opposition. Faced with looming threats and the need for significant sacrifices, their unwavering courage and unity spark a movement with the potential to transform the world.

To further enhance this enriching experience, the students participated in a question and answer session both before and after the screening, led by Kim Frazier, Math department chair at Stewart. These sessions focused on the critical importance of women's education and the pressing need for increased female representation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

This special viewing and interactive discussion provided our students with a unique opportunity to witness the strength, resilience, and transformative power of women's education, while also encouraging them to pursue careers in STEM. We hope this experience will inspire our students to embrace their own potential and become future rule breakers and leaders in their own right.
