The hallways were buzzing with excitement at Turner Middle School on Friday, April 18, as staffAuthor Farrah Rochon speaks to Turner students. and students gathered in the cafeteria to embrace world-renowned author Farrah Rochon. During the town hall meeting, the literary superstar shared her captivating journey, answered student-inspired questions, signed books and expressed her passion for the power of storytelling.  

Principal John Chandler expressed his gratitude for the special visit and the lasting impression it left on Turner’s students.  

“The visit from Farrah Rochon will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact, igniting young imaginations and encouraging the storytellers of tomorrow,” remarked Chandler. “It was an amazing culmination of our schoolwide reading initiatives. Ms. Rochon’s presence and honest stories of her journey inspired our kids to read and write beyond the classroom.” 

Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, the town hall event was guided by the dynamic young hosts of Turner Middle School's morning news and talk show, including Brittany Gonzalez, Vanya Michel, Jeremy Fuentes Morales and Ryder Sager. The lively event featured participation from every grade level, creating a truly interactive and memorable experience.

Born in South Louisiana, Rochon is a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author who began her writing career while waiting in between classes in the student lounge at Xavier University in Louisiana. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts from Southeastern Louisiana University, she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a published author.  

Some of Rochon’s accolades include being named Best New Author by Shades of Romance Students ask questions during the TMS author visit.Magazine (SORMAG). Her debut novel, Deliver Me—the first in her Holmes Brothers series—garnered rave reviews, earning her several SORMAG Readers’ Choice Awards.

Principal Chandler noted Rochon’s remarkable accomplishments made a profound impact on the student body, setting a high standard for literary excellence.
