Beulah, Dorsett Shoals, Factory Shoals and Holly Springs elementary schools were among the schools across the district that celebrated the contributions grandparents make in the lives of students for National Grandparents Day.

Beulah Principal Jessica Tyson-Ward said her school welcomed more than 100 grandparents and their grandchildren for a special morning "filled with love, laughter, meaningful conversations and cherished memories."

The festivities included breakfast and the opportunity to visit the school-wide Book Fair, where grandparents were able to purchase books for their grandchildren to support Beulah's commitment to literacy.

Students also presented special certificates to the grandparents that read, "Thanks for BEE'lieving in me."

"Grandparents are a special part of the village that helps a child grow, dream and believe in themselves," Tyson-Ward said.

At Dorsett Shoals, Principal Kelly Brown said her school hosted Grandparents Lunches over two special days to welcome all families.

Grandparents enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and then visited the Book Fair.

"It is always one of our favorite events of the year, and we absolutely love welcoming grandparents into Dorsett Shoals," Brown said. "We recognize how important grandparents are in the lives of our students, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to celebrate them and our families with a wonderful lunch together. Our students love showing off their school, sharing their day, and, most importantly, enjoying a special meal with their grandparents. We ❤️ our Grandparents!"

Factory Shoals Elementary grandparents enjoyed a special Grandparents Breakfast with treats like donuts and pastries, then visited the Book Fair with their grandchildren.

At Holly Springs, Principal Dr. Sherritta Abell said Grandparents Day is "always a GRAND affair!"

Grandparents enjoyed lunch with their students, visited the Book Fair, received special treats from the school's PTA and participated in a fun activity with their grandchild that creates a special keepsake to treasure.

Like at Dorsett Shoals, Holly Springs also celebrates by grade level across multiple days, with more than 250 grandparents and loved ones visiting each day of the celebration, Abell said.

"We are so grateful to our grandparents and loved ones for showing up, making memories and being such an important part of our Holly Springs family," she said. "We love our grandparents, we appreciate our grandparents, and we were FIRED UP to celebrate them!"
