BOE Member Michelle Simmons Community Meetings
District 4 Board of Education Member Michelle Simmons is hosting a series of Community Meetings for parents, students and the community at-large to share their vision and values for our school system. Meetings will be held April 20th at 11 a.m. at the Douglas County Public Library, April 28th at 2 p.m. at Golden Memorial UMC (clergy only) and May 1 at 5 p.m. via Zoom. Bill Arp Park Baseball

Astronomical Event Illustration (Art) Contest
Due to the overwhelming interest and to accommodate more entries, the submission deadline has been extended to February 26, 2024.
- This contest is open to youth in Douglas County.
- There are three age categories: Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8, and Grades 9-12
- Only art of astronomical events, celestial body events such as eclipses, novae or planetary collisions will be accepted for the contest.
- Students can enter the contest by completing the online form, accessible via the link below, and uploading a sketch or concept of their art. We welcome drawings, paintings, or computer-aided illustrations.
Next Up Teen Resiliency Program

Open to middle and high school students. The program will provide a variety of services for students, including tutoring, group training & skill building, counseling, parental services, and much more. See the flyer above for dates and more information

The Douglas County Boys and Girls Club is seeking teen gamers for their EA Sports Gaming Team. The team will compete against others from around the world on systems such as PS5, XBox 360 and more
