DCHS Stadium Renovations

Completed Stadium RenovationIn early 2019, the school system entered into contract with Cole Hil, an architectural firm with offices in Atlanta and Douglasville, to investigate the feasibility of continuing to repair and modify the existing stadium or replace it. The recommendation was to replace that side of the stadium.

Beginning in May 2020, the Selman Avenue side of the stadium, along with the locker room, weight room and field house, were all demolished to begin constructing the new facility.

While the Tigers played each of their games at "away" stadiums in the 2020-21 season, construction was underway to expand the home-side seating capacity to 3,500 and construct a consolidated, state-of-the-art weight room, locker room and field house at the stadium.

By August 2021, the construction was completed, and the Tigers were able to enter their new facilities for the first time. The project was funded by ESPLOST.
